Bharat Coking Coal Limited has increased basic prices of selected raw coking coal grades for non-regulated sector consumers by approximately 0.1% to 14%, effective October 14.

Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL), a subsidiary of Coal India Limited, has revised the basic prices of selected raw coking coal grades supplied to the non-regulated sector, with increases ranging from approximately 0.1% to 14% over existing prices.

The company’s board approved the price revision at its 447th meeting held at Koyla Bhawan in Dhanbad on October 13. According to a stock exchange filing, the revision aims to correct disproportionate price differences between different coal grades.

The revised prices apply to steel grades I and II, direct feed coal, prime coking coal (PCC) washery grades W-II to W-VI, and high-volatile medium coking (HVMC) washery grades W-I to W-VI. The changes are applicable to the non-regulated sector only.

Revised prices for coal grades

The revised run-of-mine prices for steel grade I prime coking coal stand at ₹7,000 per tonne, while steel grade II is priced at ₹6,500 per tonne. Direct feed coal is priced at ₹6,750 per tonne.

For prime coking coal washery grades, the revised prices are ₹4,480 per tonne for W-II, ₹3,700 for W-III, ₹3,350 for W-IV, ₹2,960 for W-V and ₹2,700 for W-VI.

For HVMC washery grades, the prices are ₹4,450 per tonne for W-I, ₹4,260 for W-II, ₹3,600 for W-III, ₹3,190 for W-IV, ₹2,860 for W-V and ₹2,560 for W-VI.

The company’s notification specifies that HVMC prices apply to non-regulated consumers, excluding the power sector, including independent power producers, fertiliser and defence.
