Caterpillar unveils new equipment lineup for diverse Indian jobsite applications

Caterpillar introduced three new machines at bauma CONEXPO India 2026, expanding solutions for mining, heavy infrastructure and road construction applications.
Caterpillar has launched the Cat® 355 Hydraulic Excavator and Cat D5 Dozer for mining and heavy infrastructure applications, along with the Cat 120 GC Motor Grader for road construction, at bauma CONEXPO India 2026. Visitors can experience Caterpillar’s integrated portfolio at stall O.E20 at the India Expo Centre, Delhi NCR, from September 15 to 18. The showcase features Cat and SEM machines, connected technologies, aftermarket services, financing solutions, rental and used equipment, FG Wilson gensets and work tools, demonstrating how Caterpillar and its dealers combine equipment, technology and support services to help customers improve productivity and safety while lowering operating costs.

In challenging quarry, mining, and heavy infrastructure applications, the Cat 355 Hydraulic Excavator and Cat D5 Dozer are built to support productivity, durability, and efficiency.
Cat 355 Hydraulic Excavator: High productivity for severe applications
The Cat 355 combines robust performance, enhanced stability and simplified maintenance to help customers maximise production and improve jobsite efficiency. Powered by a Cat C13B engine and electrohydraulic system, the excavator is designed for demanding quarry and mining applications. Its 355 WVG configuration features a 4,040 mm-wide undercarriage for greater stability and can be equipped with an optional 4.0 m³ severe-duty bucket or a 4.5 m³ heavy-duty bucket. Three work modes allow performance to be matched to specific applications, while Smart Mode automatically balances engine and hydraulic power to support fuel savings. Extended filter life, synchronised maintenance intervals, ground-level service points, automatic fan cleaning and onboard maintenance tracking are designed to reduce downtime and operating costs.
The machine’s controls, push-button start, operator ID settings that can be customized, and bilingual touchscreen that makes it simple to access machine information and onboard support are all designed to maximize operator comfort and efficiency. Throughout the day, operator comfort is supported by a roomy cab, an air-suspension seat, and plenty of storage. Safety and visibility are enhanced by wider windows, a flat engine hood, smaller cab pillars, and a built-in rearview camera. Safe access and operation are supported with an anti-skid service platform, serrated steps, and a ground-level engine shutoff.
Cat D5 Dozer: Built for versatile performance, productivity and lower owning and operating costs
The Cat D5 Dozer combines performance, precision and efficiency to meet the requirements of demanding mining and heavy infrastructure applications. Powered by a Cat C7.1 engine and fully automatic transmission, the D5 is engineered to deliver greater power to the ground while enhancing fuel efficiency. Its larger 4.3 m³ SU blade enables the machine to move more material, while available technology features and VPAT blade options provide enhanced precision across a broad range of applications.
To provide high productivity and fuel-efficient performance, the D5 powertrain combines a 170 horsepower electronic engine, torque divider, fully automatic transmission, and differential steering. Reduced downtime and maintenance expenses are aided by extended filter life clustered service sites and convenient access to regular maintenance locations. Service and repairs are made easier by the reversible fan, modular component design, elevated sprocket undercarriage, and optional 30-minute cab removal.
Fueling, changing filters, and washing rear windows are all made simple with a normal rear ladder. Safer maintenance operations are supported with grab rails on both sides of the cab roof and tie-off points. Depending on the needs of the application, additional illumination options, a standard slope indication, an optional rearview camera, and remote-control-ready operational capability all contribute to improved jobsite safety.

Cat 120 GC Motor Grader: Reliable, low-cost-per-hour performance
The Cat 120 GC Motor Grader combines high-performance features with fuel-conscious operation, straightforward controls and low maintenance requirements, making it suitable for low- to medium-duty applications such as rural road maintenance and finish grading. Powered by a Cat C4.4 engine, the 120 GC pairs a powershift transmission with a balanced machine design to deliver drawbar power to the ground. Its electronic throttle control adjusts power and torque according to application demand, while the standard eco mode can improve fuel economy compared with operation without eco mode. A familiar steering wheel and lever layout, torque converter transmission and predictable hydraulic system further simplify operation and support consistent grading performance.
Durability is supported by long-lasting constructions, hardened circle teeth, and interchangeable wear inserts. Circle saver, a reversing fan, a digital blade slope meter, all-wheel drive, various moldboard widths, and front and rear attachments for certain grading applications are among the features that are available.
