Sindhu Trade Links expands its coal and mining platform through ₹922.5 crore acquisitions, strengthening operations, global reach, and strategic capabilities.

Sindhu Trade Links Limited (STLL), a diversified business group with interests spanning mining, logistics, transportation and allied businesses, has completed two strategic acquisitions valued at ₹922.5 crore. The acquisitions represent a significant step towards strengthening STLL’s integrated mining platform, expanding its asset base and capabilities across coal, mining and logistics services and infrastructure, while further deepening its presence in the Indonesian coal market.

STLL has acquired a 78.26% stake in Singapore-based Advent Coal Resources Pte. Ltd. for a total consideration of ₹697.05 crore, along with a 50.10% stake in India-based Sainik Mining and Allied Services Limited (SMASL) for ₹225.45 crore. Advent Coal Resources holds effectively 100% of the economic interest in a 620-million-tonne coal resource project in Indonesia, supported by infrastructure that connects the mine via a 130-km logistics corridor to a deep-sea port and a future industrial cluster. The integrated coal and infrastructure project is being developed in East Kalimantan, Indonesia.

The acquisition of SMASL is set to further enhance STLL’s mining capabilities. An established mining services company, SMASL has expertise in Mine Developer & Operator (MDO) contracts, overburden removal, coal extraction and coal transportation, backed by a track record of long-term contracts and outsourced mining operations. Among its several major projects, SMASL’s 24-year MDO contract with National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) for the Dulanga Coal Mines has received several performance awards since its inception in 2017. The company reported revenue of ₹985 crore and EBITDA of ₹102 crore in FY 2025-26.

Commenting on the strategic acquisitions, Vikas Singh Hooda, Chief Executive Officer, (CEO) Sindhu Trade Links Limited, said, “The acquisitions mark an important milestone in Sindhu Trade Links’ growth journey, strengthening its platform to participate in larger and more integrated opportunities across the natural resources and infrastructure landscape. With a combination of operating capabilities, strategic assets and an expanding international footprint, the Company is well positioned to build scale, deepen its market presence by participating in upcoming opportunities in strategic mineral development via MDO (Mine Developer and Operator) & commercial mining to build sustainable value over the long term. STLL will continue to pursue opportunities that align with its core strengths and support its ambition of building a diversified, globally relevant business platform.”

As part of the Advent Coal Resources acquisition, STLL allotted 30,04,55,030 equity shares on a preferential basis, while the SMASL acquisition involved the allotment of 9,71,76,757 CCPS, which are convertible into equity shares on a 1:1 ratio. Both transactions received approval through the requisite regulatory, corporate and shareholder processes.

The acquisitions represent a significant milestone in Sindhu Trade Links’ growth trajectory, strengthening its platform to pursue larger and more integrated opportunities across the natural resources and infrastructure sectors. With a combination of operational capabilities, strategic assets and an expanding international footprint, the company is positioned to build scale, deepen its market presence and create sustainable value over the long term.
